The fishing trip

One windy day in Christchurch my family and I went to the beach. As soon as my little sister saw the water she ran as fast as her small legs could run. In fact she ran so fast that she tripped and face planted on the sand. She was ok though. Dad got out the fishing rods my mum dad and I have surf casters and my little sister has a bait rod. Bait rods are way smaller than surfcasters. Bait rods are used for fishing on a boat because the line is shorter. Surfcasters are meant for casting from a beach . Anyway there were too many people in the water so we went further down and we across a dinghy it was in good condition so we paddled out to sea. Then the worst thing that could happen happened that we were in a fast flowing rip and it had taken us far out to sea. Boom! Crack! We hit a sharp rock
the small dingh was sinking. At the front of the boat there were four life jackets, a flare and a beacon. We put our yellow life jackets on, dipped the beacon in the water and waited. One long minute past the boat had sunk completely and we were bobbing up and down in the water. The red rescue helicopter hovered above us. Boom dad let off the flare. In an instant the helicopter dropped down a ladder everybody climbed aboard we were safe.

Remember life jackets save lives!
